telling stories
A quick addendum to my earlier post …
A great speech at Cal-Tech’s commencement by NPR’s Robert Krulwich on how to translate science for the public and the importance of doing so. Even though he speaks about natural science, of course the same should be said for social science.
I thought Krulwich left NPR long ago for the “greener” pastures of CBS or some other commercial network. But as I recall, he did not just physical science but economics, and perhaps social science as well.

Krulwich does work for one of the big three networks, but he still does occasional bits for NPR News. He also does the phenomenal, award-winning show, “Radio Lab,” recorded by WNYC and heard on NPR stations across the country. If you haven’t heard “Radio Lab” yet, treat yourself!
